Redstone not working/not appearing in inventory

I know that there is posts about these but those are two years old and no one seemed to have replied to them? Firstly, some redstone devices (like pistons or comparators) are not in the inventory in creative and can only be accessed through crafting, which could be annoying to some people (I think you can find it in user-created planets though). Secoundly, none of them worked when connected to redstone. Please fix this, this could really be useful for some builds and elevators :) Also, I think that redstone should be able to affect things through max one block, instead of heaving to touch the thing to activate it as it can look quite messy. Some redstone rails don't activate until you edit another block, is that a bug? Thanks
